Summer Wells Case Still High Priority
The Hawkins County Sheriff’s office issued a post on social media over the weekend stating that the sheriff’s office and the TBI are still actively pursuing the Summer Wells case, saying that the case is still a high priority. The five year old girl has been missing since June 15th. The Hawkins County Sheriff’s office says they are still following up on tips pertaining to the little girl’s disappearance and they are continuing to ask for the public’s help in identifying an older model Toyota Tacoma pickup that investigators believe is connected to the case. As we come up on the 4 month mark in this case this Friday, the reward for information leading to the return or discovery of Summer Wells is now over $40,000. In a recent interview, Summer Wells’ father Don Wells stated that he did not want the reward fund to expire. The reward was set to expire in December…but now has been extended into 2022.
