SUV Stolen In Cocke County…Later Found All Wet

A woman in Cocke County reported her vehicle as being stolen. Alexa Dooley told Cocke County deputies she had parked her 2020 Chevrolet Equinox at a friends house on Stowa Way Wednesday night around 11:30. When she returned on Thursday, she found her vehicle gone. Dooley stated that she left the key inside the vehicle’s cup holder. A nearby neighbor with a security camera was reviewing that camera’s footage for any glimpse of a suspect.

A short time later, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s office notified the Cocke County Sherriff’s office that the stolen vehicle had been located off of Leadvale Road near White Pine. They also advised that the vehicle was in the lake. No suspects in that theft at this time.
