Swift Water Rescue In Cocke County

4 people had to be rescued from their vehicle that got stranded in floodwaters from the French Broad River on Thursday in Cocke County. The Cocke County Swift Water Rescue Team, Newport City Fire Swift Water Rescue Team and the Cocke County Sheriff’s Office rescued three young children and one adult from an SUV that was trapped. It was the Cocke County Swift Water Rescue Team’s first call as the group had just completed their training just last weekend. Perfect timing.
