TDOT Halting Lane Closures This Weekend

Hard to believe but this weekend is Labor Day Weekend…typically considered the last big weekend of summer. If you plan to travel this weekend…The Tennessee Department of Transportation is helping you out as they will halt all lane closures on interstates and state highways for the Labor Day weekend. Construction crews will stop all lane closure at noon on Friday…and that hiatus on lane closures will be in effect until 6:00 AM Tuesday, September 7.

TDOT reminds drivers that there still may be workers on-site in some construction zones, and drivers are urged to obey the posted construction zone speed limits. You do not want to get caught speeding in one of those construction zones…that can result in a ticket with a fine of 250-500 dollars…plus court costs and not to mention what it could do to your auto insurance rates. So just watch your speed and travel safely this weekend.
