TDOT Lane Closures Lifted For Holiday Weekend
If you plan on traveling for the Labor Day weekend this weekend, TDOT is helping you out by making your travels a little less inconvenient. TDOT says they will cease all temporary lane closures during the holiday weekend. Lane closure activity will stop Friday at noon and continue through 6am Tuesday morning, September 5. Keep in mind, while lane closure activity will be stopped, there could still be workers on-site in many construction zones, and drivers are urged to obey posted speed limits. If you are caught speeding in a construction zone, it could hit your wallet with a fine of $250 to $500, plus court fees and your insurance premiums could also increase.
US 25E is supposed to be reopened by Friday, September 1. That is just the northbound lane that would reopen. The southbound lane will continue to be closed and that construction traffic light will still be enforced this weekend.
