Teacher Facing Charges After Striking Student
A Special Education teacher in White Pine is now facing charges that he struck a student. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s office says they received notification from a school resource officer that a teacher had struck a student on Thursday. The sheriff’s office investigated and found that 31 year old Joseph Lee, a special ed teacher at White Pine school had struck a 7 year old student with an IPad. Lee was taken into custody and transported to the Jefferson County Detention Center in Dandridge. He has been charged with assault and child abuse.
