Tennesseans Already Planning Holiday Travel
As we close in on the end of October, it’s time to begin thinking about the upcoming holidays. According to the AAA, Tennesseans are getting a head start on their holiday travel plans this year. A recent survey showed that most Tennesseans this year made their holiday travel plans in September or earlier in October. Only 6% of those planning to travel expect to make their plans in November.
Over half (54%) of Tennesseans plan to take at least one overnight trip during the 2025 holiday season. 73% of those surveyed say that overnight trip will be at Christmas, while 63% will travel for Thanksgiving and 46% will make a trip during the New Years’ holiday.
The AAA says that the peak travel days this year around holidays will be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Sunday. If you have not yet made travel plans for Thanksgiving the AAA suggests if you are flying, do so the Sunday or Monday before Thanksgiving and return on Saturday in order to have the smaller crowds.
