Tennessee ABC Recommends Soaky Mountain Liquor License Suspension
The Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission has recommended that Soaky Mountain Waterpark’s alcohol license be suspended. The park has received two citations for a dozen alcohol-related incidents over the past two months. The ABC had issued the water park a citation on July 23 for failure to maintain the establishment’s compliance with state and local ordinances related to alcohol service. Sevierville Police had responded to eight alcohol-related incidents at the park between June 1 – July 15, 2021. The citation led to a fine of $1,500….then last Friday August 6th…the park was issued a second citation for events that happened on July 24th where police responded to 3 alcohol releated incidents in just 4 hours…then on July 31st…a woman being shot and killed in the parking lot after an altercation in the parking lot. 31 year old Sarah Romine has been charged with second-degree murder in that case.
The recommendation to suspend Soaky Mountain’s alcohol license will go before the commission in a hearing where both parties can hear testimony from witnesses on the merits of that recommendation.
