Gas prices have been going up and down some lately. According to the AAA that is due to the recent hurricanes and tropical storms affecting the gulf coast. The current national average for a gallon of gas sits at $3.17. Luckily we are in Tennessee which has an average price of $2.89, ranking the state in the top 10 for lowest gas prices in the nation. Chattanooga currently has the lowest prices in the state with Nashville having the highest. According to GasBuddy, a location in Madisonville has the lowest price in the state at $2.09. Prices in Cocke County are less than the state average with prices averaging about $2.76…Sevier County is a little cheaper with an average price of about $2.73. The lowest gas prices in the nation are in Mississippi with an average price in the Magnolia state being $2.79.
