Tennessee Heads To Omaha
A six-run fourth inning on Sunday is what put the Tennessee Vols into game 3 of their Super Regional Series against Southern Miss. Last night, it was a 3 run fifth that catapulted them into the College World Series. Zane Denton blasted a 3 run shot with two out in the fifth which put the Vols up 4-0 at that point. The Vols bullpen would make sure the lead held up and Tennessee defeated Southern Miss 5-0 Monday night in a game delayed for 4 hours by weather. First pitch didn’t come till after 10pm and the game wasn’t over till after midnight. Tennessee joins Florida and LSU as the three SEC teams who have survived to make the trip to Omaha. LSU will be Tennessee’s first opponent. The Vols and Tigers will meet on the diamond in Omaha Saturday, June 17 at 7pm…that game will be on ESPN.
