Tennessee Heads To Second Round In Men’s Tournament
The Tennsseee Vols are heading to the NCAA Tournament second round. This after dismantling the Peacocks of Saint Peters. Dalton Knecht was back on track scoring 23. Zakai Ziegler contributed a double double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. The Vols held Saint Peters to just 20 points in the first half and held them to less than 30% shooting from the field. Tennessee dominates in an 83-49 win and now heads to the field of 32. The win sets up a match between Rick Barnes and his former team, the Texas Longhorns…coached by Barnes’ former assistant Rodney Terry. Number 7 seed Texas took down play in game winner Colorado State 56-44. The game between Texas and Tennessee will be tomorrow night at 8 and will be on CBS.
Tennessee is the only one of four SEC teams in action Thursday to advance. Mississippi State turned their game over…literally…to Michigan State. South Carolina fell to Oregon. And in the stunner of the night, Oakland…a #14 seed… took down number 3 seed Kentucky 80-76. There are now just 5 of 8 SEC teams left…and four haven’t played yet.
