Tennessee Moves Up In AP Poll
The Tennessee Vols got back in the win column on Saturday. The Vols got off to a fast start in the first half, leading 31-0 at the half. However, Tennessee appeared to let off the gas in the second half and went into a lull, allowing the Roadrunners to get on the board. The Vols eventually clamped down and won 45-14. The win gives Tennessee some momentum headed into a big game against South Carolina this Saturday at Neyland stadium. This game has been circled on the Vols calendar for about 10 months. The Gamecocks sent UT to a big loss last season…63-38. It was during that game that Hendon Hooker’s season ended with a knee injury. Kickoff for Saturday night’s game set for 7:30 at Neyland.
The win against Texas-San Antonio on Saturday moved the Vols up a couple spots in the latest AP Poll. Tennessee now sits at #21 in the rankings. Seven SEC teams are in the top 25. Georgia of course sits atop the poll, but then you have to go down to #12 for the next SEC team which is Alabama. LSU sits at #13, Ole Miss is at #20 followed by the Vols at #21. Florida & Missouri then follow at #23 & 24.
