The End Of An Era…Derrick Henry Agrees To Deal With Ravens
The King is gone. Some Tennessee Titans fans in mourning today after the news broke on Tuesday that Derrick Henry was officially ending his career with the Tennessee Titans, the only team he has ever played for during his eight year career. Adam Schefter, with ESPN, broke the news Tuesday afternoon that Henry had reached an agreement with the Baltimore Ravens. The king’s contract is a two-year $16 million deal that can be worth up to $20 million, including $9 million fully guaranteed the first year.
Henry wrapped up a 4 year $50 million contract with the Titans this past season. At 4pm this afternoon, his contract expires with the Titans as the new league year begins. He can then sign the new contract with the Ravens…one of the Titans most despised opponents.
Fortunately, Titans fans will not have to face Henry this year, as the Ravens are not on the Titans 2024 schedule. Derrick Henry leaves the Titans as the franchise’s second leading rusher all time with 9,502 yards in 119 games. Henry finishes his Titans career just 507 yards shy of tying Eddie George as the all-time franchise rushing leader.
