Three Arrested On Drug Charges
Three people were arrested in a minivan near the Newport Animal Control office Wednesday night. The maroon minivan was suspected of being involved in a hit and run crash near the city park. An officer spotted a maroon minivan matching the suspect vehicle’s description traveling southbound on North Street. That vehicle was pulled over near the Newport Animal Control. The driver was 53 year old Anthony Williams who besides not having a valid license, had two warrants for his arrest. One of the passengers, 44 year old Trinity Sells had a backpack at her feet which contained a package of syringes and four loose ones that had ben recently used. The other passenger, 30 year old Julia Busche appeared to be under the influence of heroin. She was wearing pants that were rolled at the ankles in which the officer could see a syringe laying in the fold of the pants. Bushe was arrested for public intoxication. Sells was found at the jail to be in possession of .6 grams of meth, so she was charged with schedule II possession. All three face charges of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
