Three Indicted In Death Of Newport Woman

A Cocke County Grand Jury has indicted a woman in the death of her own mother. Back on April 2, 36 year old Polly Fox called 911 saying that she had found her mother, 68 year old Ola Schumacher, dead in her home on Battle Road in Newport. When deputies arrived they found Ola Schumacher on the floor of her home with a deep cut to her throat. At that time investigators arrested and charged Polly Fox along with 35 year old Reyna Keene with murder. Both Fox and Keene have now been indicted for first degree murder and also tampering with evidence.

A third person involved has been indicted as well. Investigators with the Cocke County Sheriff’s office say that Billy Eugene Henry helped clean the hands of Reyna Keene and told her to get rid of the knife used in the homicide. Henry has been indicted for accessory after the fact and tampering with evidence. All three individuals are due to be arraigned in Cocke County on July 29.
