Titans Active On First Day Of Free Agency
Free Agency begins tomorrow at 4pm in the NFL, but, Monday was the beginning of the legal tampering period, where teams can negotiate with players and agents on contracts, but those contracts cannot be officially signed till Wednesday afternoon. The Tennessee Titans were active. The Titans have an estimated $80 million in salary cap space. Their first reported move was to give a pretty big contract to Dallas Cowboy running back Tony Pollard…3 years, $24 million. The Titans then addressed a major weak spot on the offensive line by signing Denver Broncos center Lloyd Cushenberry.
The Titans finished the first day by coming to terms with Cincinnati Bengal cornerback Chidobe Awuzie…one of the best defensive backs in the NFL. Late last night, word broke that the Titans were also going to be signing San Diego Charger linebacker and former first-round pick Kenneth Murray to a two-year contract. Murray was the 23rd overall pick back in 2020.
With the Titans signing running back Tony Pollard, that brings an end to the Derrick Henry era in Tennessee. Latest news has the Baltimore Ravens with an offer on the table for Derrick Henry, but as of Tuesday morning, he remains uncommitted to a team.
