Traffic Stop Leads To Arrrest

Late Tuesday night in Newport police pulled over a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee whose license plate tag matched a 1991 silver Toyota. The driver was 44 year old Shawn Martin, whose license had been revoked for DUI. Martin gave permission for his vehicle to be searched and inside the center console, officers found a black metal container with a glass pipe inside used to smoke illegal narcotics. There was also a dollar bill rolled up. That bill contained .68 grams of crystal meth inside. Martin was taken into custody and charged with possession of schedule II narcotics. The passenger in the car, 45 year old LeShannon Wilson was wanted on probation violations…so she was taken into custody as well.
