Traffic Stop Leads To Large Amount Of Cash
A traffic stop led to the seizure of a lartge amount of cash believed to be drug proceeds. On Sunday a Cocke County deputy spotted a woman traveling southbound on Cosby Hwy shouting obscenities at another driver and then swerving in and out of her lane. The vehicle turned onto New Cave Church Road, then pulled into the back parking lot of Cracker Barrel where the vehicle was stopped. The vehicle smelled of marijuana and the passenger Tim Giles had a marijuana cigarette in his possession. The car was searched and 34 grams of marijauna was found in the passenger seat. The driver was Cindy Giles and a search of her purse revealed $51,200 in cash. The cash was banded in ten thousand dollar bands, common in drug sales. Both individuals were arrested and charged with possession of schedule VI drugs. Another $217 was found in Cindy Giles’ wallet at the jail.
