Trailer Stolen From Tennessee Division Of Forestry
the Cocke County Sheriff’s office is trying to find out who stole a utility trailer form the Tennessee Division of Forestry. The Forestry service says someone between Wednesday night and Thursday morning of last week, cut the chain securing a secondary gate at their facility on Highway 73. The thieves them took a rock on the property and threw it at a security light mounted high on the building, disabling it. The suspect(s) then drove a vehicle around the building, moving several pieces of equipment to gain access to the utility trailer. The trailer was secured with a bright red Masterlock hitch lock which was deputies say was not located at the scene. The trailer was a heavy duty Hurst single axle trailer with a 2″ ball hitch. Base on tire tracks and spin marks, police believe the vehicle to possibly be a two-wheel drive truck, which left the property traveling south on Highway 73 towards the 440 Truck Stop. Anyone with information, should call the Cocke County Sheriff’s office.
