Tri- Cities Man Charged In Two Murders
A man is now in custody in the Tri-Cities suspected in connection with not one but two murders. A manhunt got underway on Thursday for Donald Britt after he was suspected of shooting and killing a woman, 36 year old Katie Arnold, in Sullivan County Wednesday night. Authorities believed that Britt was in a red Dodge Challenger or Chevy Camaro. Then around 10:30am Thursday morning, police were called to a home near the scene of Wednesday night’s murder…a man was found dead in that home after he did not show up to work Thursday morning. Police suspected that Britt was involved and stole that victim’s beige Nissan X-Terra. That vehicle was later spotted Thursday afternoon in Jonesborough and a police pursuit began. That pursuit ended when Britt crashed the stolen Nissan X-Terra into a TBI agents’ vehicle. Police confirmed the Nissan X-Terra belonged to the second victim. Kenneth Britt, who has a criminal history and was out on probation is now facing two counts of first degree murder. The second victim’s name has not yet been released pending notification of relatives.
