Tri-Cities Man Sentenced In Federal Court To Over 20 Years In Prison
A tri-cities man who was arrested over two years ago with over 600 grams of methamphetamine and numerous firearms will now spend the next two decades in prison. On Monday, a federal judge in Greeneville sentenced 39 year old Joseph White to 276 months, or 23 years, behind bars. White agreed to plead guilty to Possession of 50 Grams or More of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute, in violation and Brandishing a Firearm in Furtherance of a Drug Trafficking Offense.
According to court documents, back on December 23, 2021, White was found by police in Bristol to have three bags containing 309 grams of methamphetamine, four loaded firearms, $13,861 in cash in his vehicle. He was arrested but released on bond. Two weeks later on January 10, 2022, White was arrested in Blountville and had 352 grams of methamphetamine in his vehicle, three more firearms and over $9800 in cash. White was also in possession of heroin and marijuana. All total, police confiscated 661 grams of methamphetamine and over $23,000 in cash from White. Upon his release from prison, White will have to serve eight years of probation.
