Turcios Found Guilty…Sentenced To Life
Just as quickly as it started the trial for a man in Sevier County accused of killing a co-worker is now over. Gabrial Turcios was found guilty by a jury yesterday in Sevierville of first degree murder for the stabbing death of 20 year old Savannah Burford. Prosecutors showed the jury video of Turcios following Burford out of the Sunline Diner on the night of January 8, 2020 and stabbing her at least 17 times…Turcios had been stalking Burford prior to the attack. The jury then quickly came back with a sentence…the now 20 year old Turcios will spend the rest of his life in prison without the possibility for parole. The defense had argued that Turcios was insane at the time of the killing…a claim the jury soundly rejected.
