Two CCSO Deputies Receive THSO Awards
Thursday, the Tennessee Highway Safety Office held their annual awards presentation for East Tennessee Law Enforcement agencies. Two Cocke County deputies received awards during that presentation. Deputy Miranda Williams was awarded the DUI award of the year for her outstanding achievements during the years 2021 and 2022. She had more DUI arrests than any officer in the department and earlier this year, she completed Driving Under the Influence and Standardized Field Sobriety training and roadside impairment training. She also became the first deputy or officer from Cocke County to graduate from training making her a registered Drug Recognition Expert.
Also, Deputy Jonathan Ball received the Saved by the Belt award. Ball received that award due to a vehicle pursuit of an intoxicated driver that hit Deputy Ball head on causing damages and injuries. The safety belt helped save the deputies life and slowed down the injuries that he could have received.
Congratulations to those two Cocke County deputies.
