Two Dead, Twenty Still Missing In Neighboring Haywood County NC

Two dead…twenty still missing. That is the word from Hauwood County NC on the heels of the flooding caused by tropical storm Fred Tuesday night and Wednesday. Officials said that Thursday morning 200 searchers scattered across that area continuing to search home to home along the Pigeon River, clearing areas and making preliminary assessments of damage….this as parts of Canton, NC still remain underwater from the overflowed Pigeon River. Emergency management in Haywood County stated that two people were confirmed dead as of Wednesday night…however several people thought missing were determined to be safe and had been reunited with their families, but about 500 families are displaced at this time because of the flooding.
