Two Injured In Fiery Crash On US 411
Two people were injured in a one vehicle accident Saturday afternoon on US 411 just inside the Jefferson County line. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, 20 year old Preston Wagoner was driving a 1993 Cadillac eastbound towards Cocke County, when he failed to negotiate a curve to the left. The vehicle then went off the right side of the roadway, struck an embankment, rolled over on its top and struck a utility pole. The vehicle then burst into flames. Also injured in that crash was the passenger 18 year old Violette Harmon of Louisiana.
Other motorists that saw the crash acted quickly and pulled the two injured parties from the burning vehicle, saving them from further injury or death. Preston Wagoner told the highway patrol that a cat that was in the vehicle crawled onto his chest, which distracted him and he failed to negotiate that curve. Both Wagoner and Harmon were wearing their seatbelts.
