Upcoming Detour For Hwy 321

If you travel from Parrottsville to Newport every day, get ready for a little inconvenience. On Monday, March 20th, TDOT is going to be closing US Hwy 321 from State Route 160 to St. Tide Hollow Road. That closing is necessary for the tie-in of the existing highway to the new Highway 321 Newport Bypass. Starting Monday, traffic will be diverted onto Old Greeneville Highway which will be used as a detour while that work is going on. TDOT estimates that the detour will be in place till sometime in September. Starting Monday, you may want to give yourself a couple of extra minutes to get to work due to that detour.
