USDA Commodities Distribution Set For June 29th

Later this month there will be a food commodity distribution from the USDA in Cocke County. The Douglas-Cherokee Economic Authority will be holding that commodities distribution on Tuesday June 29th at the National Guard Armory south of Newport off of Hwy 321 between the hours of 9 and 2. You will need to bring either a current Food Stamp Card, Proof of SSI Assistance, Proof of public housing residency, proof of 2021 monthly household income or proof of families first assistance to qualify for the commodities distribution. This is only for Cocke County residents and you will need to bring proof of residency…like a valid state ID or a utility bill.

This will be a drive-thru only service and the only entrance will be from Cosby Hwy at the Armory Road entrance…right there at the military tank. Once again this will be on Tuesday June 29th from 9-2.
