UT Clings To Top 25 Spot…Barely
The Tennessee Vols continued their tumble in the rankings and are hanging on in the top 25 by their fingernails. The Vols kicked off the game against Georgia with an opening play 75 yard touchdown to take a 7-0 lead against the top ranked Bulldogs. However, it was all downhill after that and Tennessee trailed 24-7 at the half on their way to a 38-10 defeat to the dawgs. Tennessee fell to #25 in the poll that came out yesterday. Utah and North Carolina State were just 10 points behind Tennessee and came very close to knocking the Vols completely out of the top 25.
Georgia kept its place at number one, but Ohio State moved ahead of Michigan to number two dropping the Wolverines to number three. Washington’s win against Oregon pushed Washington into the number four position on the poll. As far as SEC teams, Alabama stays at #8, Missouri moved into the top 10 at #10 after defeating Florida. Ole Miss is at #12, and LSU moved up to #14.
The Vols finish their regular season at Neyland Stadium this Saturday afternoon against Vanderbilt, who did not lose this past weekend…that’s because they didn’t play. The ‘dores still looking for their first SEC win of the season. They have lost 9 in a row. Kickoff is at 3:30.
