UT Vols Freshman Getting SEC Recognition
Tennessee Vols basketball freshman Nate Ament is getting the attention of others in the SEC conference. On MOnday, Ament was named the SEC Freshman of the Week after the first week of regular season basketball action. Ament scored over 20 points in both of the Vols games so far. Through the forst two games, Ament is averaging 20.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 steal per game. He is shooting 52% from the floor, 37.5% from beyond the arc and 82% from the free throw line.
Ament is just the the sixth SEC freshman in the last 20 years to post at least 23 points, eight rebounds, five assists and two steals in their first two games. He is just the third Vol freshman to reach those levels during that 20 year period.
Nate Ament will be back on the floor Wednesday night as the Vols will host North Florida at Food City Center. Tip off is at 7pm.
