Vehicle Stolen In June Recovered By CCSO

The Cocke County Sheriff’s office has recovered a stolen vehicle. The 2009 Toyota Yaris 4 door sedan was found abandoned at the 440 Truck Stop on Hwy 73. That vehicle had been reported by the Newport Police department as stolen from the Food City West parking lot over three months ago on June 12. The steering column along with the interior and exterior of that vehicle had been damaged. Adrian Thomas had reported to police around 11:35pm on June 11, he had left the car running in the Food City parking lot while he went inside. Thomas stated at the time that he spent about 5 minutes in the store and when he walked out of the store the Toyota Yaris was gone.There are no suspects at this time in that theft.
