Vols Heading To New York City

How sweet it is….the Tennessee Volunteers head to New York City and the Sweet 16 after manhandling Duke Saturday afternoon. Tennessee used a bruising defense to strangle Duke’s offense. Tennessee will now face off against the #9 seed Florida Atlantic Owls. They defeated the 16th seed, Farleigh David son. The Vols and FAU will face off Thursday in Madison Square Garden. If the Vols get past the Owls, they will face the winnder of Michigan State and Kansas State on Saturday for a spot in the Final Four.

The Lady Vols will be playing their second round game in the Women’s NCAA Tournament tonight at 6pm at Thompson Boling Arena. Tennessee takes on the 12 seed, Toledo. That game will be televised on ESPN 2. A win and the Lady Vols will head to the Sweet 16 where they would take on #1 seed Virginia Tech.

One of the four number one seeds was bounced in the Women’s Tournament Sunday as Ole Miss Stanford…one of the best programs in the country. Ole Miss is now in the Sweet 16. They will take on either Louisville or Texas.
