Vols Heading to Ohio
As expected, the Tennessee Vols will be headed north to Columbus, Ohio in the college football playoff. The college football playoff bracket was unveiled on Sunday and as expected, Tennessee is seeded ninth. That means they will face number eight seed Ohio State in the first round. That game is set for December 21 at 8pm.
The bad news is, if Tennessee wins, they will face number one Oregon in the Rose Bowl in the quarterfinals on New Years’ Day. If you would like to make the drive to Columbus to see the Vols take on the Buckeyes in person, be prepared as tickets will be at a pemium. Only six sections of Ohio Stadium are being set aside for Tennessee.
The other first round games have Clemson at Texas; SMU and Penn State and Indiana at Notre Dame. The four teams receiving first round byes are Oregon, Georgia, Arizona State and Boise State. Too the surprise of many, Alabama did not make the 12 team playoff.
