Vols Take Down Bama
The Tennessee Volunteers desperately needed a win after losing three of their last four games and watching their #2 ranking drop to a #10 ranking in just two weeks. Wednesday night at Thompson Boling Arena, they got that big win at the expense of #1 ranked Alabama. The Vols top rated defense forced the Tide to turn the ball over 19 times. The last of those turnovers proving the most costly as it allowed the Vols to expand their lead with little time left. Leading scorer Santiago Vescovi, who has recently failed to nail down free throws late in games, wound up nailing all but one of his free throws late in the game last night. That helped Tennessee finish off the #1 Crimson Tide as the Vols win by nine…68-59. Zakai Ziegler joined Vescovi in scoring 15 during the game. The Vols get their 20th win of the season. Up next, the Vols will seek revenge against the Kentucky Wildcats as they head to Lexington for a 1pm tipoff. That game will be televised on CBS.
