Vols To Play In The Music City Bowl

Yesterday afternoon the Tennessee Vols learned who they will go bowling with later this month..and it’s not going to be a long drive for fans. The Vols will be playing in the music City Bowl in Nashville on December 30th against Purdue. The Vols finished their season 7-5, with 6 wins or more made them eligible for a bowl game. The Purdue Boilermakers finished the season with a record of 8-4 and 6-3 in the Big Ten. This will be only the 2nd meeting between the two teams, the last time Tennessee and Purdue met was in 1979 in the Bluebonnet Bowl…UT lost 27-22…that was in Johnny Major’s third season. Josh Heaupel becomes the 5th coach in the las 70years to lead the Vols to a bowl game in his debut season as head coach. So, Tennessee goes bowling and it’s just a couple hours drive down I-40.
