Wanted Pair Found With Stolen Vehicle In Cocke County

Two people were arrested in Cocke County Thursday that were wanted in surrounding counties. A Cocke County deputy had spotted a gold Chevrolter Silverado sitting on the side of the road on France Street in Newport. 33 year old Billy McMahan was standing on the drivers’ side of the truck. McMahan was wanted for escape out of Hamblen County was taken into custody. The female inside the vehicle was identified as 40 year old Tesha Bass and she was shown to have a warrant for theft over $10000 out of Jefferson County. Bass was taken into custody and transported to the Jefferson County line and released into Jefferson County custody. McMahan was then transported to Walters Bridge and released to a Hamblen County deputy. The Chevrolet Silverado the pair had been spotted with had been reported stolen out of Jefferson County on October 6th.
