Warrant Issued For Food City Shoplifter

Police have issued a warrant for a woman who was caught shoplifting at Food City East. Loss prevention stated that around 1pm Monday, a woman identified as 30 year old Amanda Pope pushed a grocery cart through the store, putting numerous items in it. Video cameras recorded her stopping in a frozen food aisle, she then took grocery bags out of her purse, placed the items in her cart in the bags, then left the store without paying, Food City estimated their loss to be over $175. Newport police have sworn a warrant out for Pope’s arrest for theft.
