Winter Wonderland This Morning

Cocke county and East Tennessee waking up to a blanket of white this morning. However, the storm that was supposed to pack a punch for the mountains did not deliver near the amount of snow we expected. Cocke County and East Tennessee mainly saw anywhere from a trace to 2”…some areas around Morristown saw 4-6. The mountains generally received somewhere between 6-8 inches.

The majority of the snow went to our east as was predicted. Areas of western NC say 12-18”…especially in areas east of Asheville in the mountains. We could still see some snow showers off and on today. But the big story is the wind. The National weather service has us back under a winter weather advisory till 4pm this afternoon with an additional inch of snow possible.
