Woman Arrested After Nearly Striking Patrol Car

A Woman was arrested after she nearly struck a patrol car. Newport officer Paul Weber stated that Captain Derek Wright of the Newport Police Department was conducting a traffic stop on West Highway 25/70 when a car driven by 34 year old Kassie Pitt failed to move over into the left lane lane and nearly struck Wright’s patrol car. Officer Webb then pulled Pitt over and found her to be driving on a suspended license. She was charged with driving on a suspended license…second offense and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
