Woman Arrested For Child Neglect And Endangerment

Police officers responded with EMS to an apartment in Newport Tuesday afternoon after a 10 year old boy found his mother unconscious. 29 year old Megan Hembree was not breathing when EMS arrived. They administered two doses of Narcan to alter the affects of a drug overdose along with utilizing lifesaving techniques which were successful in ringing her back. Police say the boy found his mother and ran out of the apartment to get help…saving her life. Megan Hembree denied medical attention and was arrested and charged with child neglect and endangerment. The boy is now staying with his grandfather.
