Woman Arrested for Stealing Pickup Truck

A woman is now in jail after stealing a vehicle in Newport on Monday. Police were called to the parking lot of Marshall’s in Newport Monday afternoon. Martin Rainwater told police he went inside Marshal’s for around 15 minutes and when he came back out, his green 1998 Ford Ranger pickup was gone. Police entered the truck’s tag number into the Flock system and a Flock camera spotted the pickup in Gatlinburg.

A Be On The Lookout Order was issued in Sevier County for the truck, which was later spotted in Pigeon Forge and police department attempted to stop it, but the person driving refused to pull over and a pursuit ensued. The driver pulled over and police arrested 25 year old Autumn Collins. She has been charged with Theft Over $2,500.
