Woman Arrested Public Intoxication

Newport police were called to the Hometowne Laundry on Cope Blvd Monday evening. Concerned citizens had called 911 about a woman passed out at the wheel of a van and a child was in the vehicle. Police arrived and found 45 year old Ashley Dalton, who was under the influence of alcohol and could not follow simple instructions. She was taken into custody for public intoxication. A family member was contacted to get the child.
