Woman Gives Morristown Police A Hard Time
Monday, Morristown police responded to an address on Hale Avenue about a woman on the premises that should not be there. That woman was 48 year old Lora Francis who met police with an aggressive hostility screaming loudly at officers. Ms. Francis was asked numerous times to stop yelling as officers were standing right next to her. Francis continues to yell screaming that she did not like the way that officers were handling the situation. So, officers called for a supervisor to come to the scene…but Francis continues to yell and scream at the superior officer. Francis was told she would be taken to jail if she did not calm down….she did not…and was taken into custody where she resisted arrest. EMS transported her to be checked out at Morristown Hamblen but she continues screaming at patients and hospital staff. After being medically cleared, she was transported to jail where she continued to resist and refused to get out of the police cruiser…jail staff had to take her by force into the Hamblen County jail. Lora Francis charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
