Woman Injured After Being Thrown From Truck

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a man after he allegedly threw a woman out of a moving truck. Cocke County deputies were called to an area on Butler Road where they came across a woman lying on the side of the road bleeding from the face and mouth. 41 year old Melissa Jones of Newport was transported to the Newport Medical Center where she was barely able to speak, she told deputies that she has been at a friend’s house and left with a man she identified as 46 year old Bryan Hurst. She stated that she believed that Hurst was driving a stolen green spray painted truck and that he had choked her then threw her out of the truck while driving. A warrant has been issued for Hurst for aggravated assault.
