Woman Leaves Dog In Hot Car

A woman was cited Sunday in the parking lot of Wal-Mart in Newport for animal cruelty. Police were called after a passerby had spotted a dog stuck in a hot car. The responding officer observed a dog in the car, the dog was panting and had no water. The windows were only rolled down about 2 inched and the temperature outside was 90 degrees. the owner of the car came out of Wal-Mart about 15 minutes later and was cited into court. No word on what the temperature was inside the vehicle…but…in a recent rescue of another dog in the same circumstance, the temperature inside the car was 150 degrees.
