Woman Strangled Over Cigarettes

Police were called to Wal-Mart on Sunday after witnesses stated they heard a woman screaming in the woods next to the store. The woman was 29 year old Ronetta Vance. Vance told police that she and her boyfriend, 26 year old Tyler Gibson are currently living in a tent in the woods and they got into a verbal argument that turned into a physical altercation. Vance stated that Gibson grabbed her by the throat with both hands and began strangling her and then punching her in the neck and upper torso. Red markings were present around Vance’s neck consistent with someone having their hands around her neck and squeezing hard to restrict air flow. Officers went into the wooded area but could not locate Tyler Gibson. Vance told office Justin Vinson that the argument between the two was over a pack of cigarettes.
