Work Continuing On Jones Cove Bridge

Construction crews are continuing work on the bridge on Jones Cove Road. That bridge is having to be rebuilt after being washed away from floodwaters back in late June. TDOT says they are rebuilding the bridge in a way that will help it withstand a similar flooding event that washed out the old bridge. TDOT says they hope to have one lane of the new bridge opened by sometime in November. That will be welcome news fror those who live in the Jones Cove area. Those wanting to go to Sevierville that live on the Newport soide of the bridge are having to take a long detour to get to their destination. TDOT says they hope to have the bridge completely reopened by the first part of 2023.
