You Can Run But You Can’t Hide

The Cocke County Sheriff’s office arrested a South Carolina man Monday who tried to hide from law enforcement. The sheriff’s department says that 31 year old James Phillips of Easley, SC was speeding early Monday morning on Hooper Highway in Cosby. When a deputy attempted a traffic stop, Easley pulled into the DJ’s Market parking lot and turned off all lights in order to hide. That effort was not successful. Phillips smelled of marijuana when he was found. A search of his vehicle turned up marijuana, plus Xanax bars in plastic baggies. A total of 49 Xanax bars were found, to which Phillips had no prescription. The marijuana found weighed 10 grams. Phillips was arrested and charged with Schedule IV and VI possession.
