4 Year Old Rescued After Sevier County Suspect Standoff
A scary situation ended peacefully Sunday night in Sevier County. Sheriff Michael Hodges says around 8pm, his deputies were called to a home on Cee Cee Way near Douglas Lake about an aggravated domestic assault involving children. Officers and detectives that arrived on the scene were advised that 43-year-old Jose Gallegos Galean-Maria, was possibly armed and inside of the residence with a (4) four-year-old child.
The Sevier County Sheriff’s Office, Pigeon Forge and Sevierville Police Department SWAT teams were called to the scene. A tactical drone was deployed successfully and after a brief standoff, Galean-Maria surrendered without further incident, allowing the 4 year old child to be rescued unharmed. Galean-Maria was charged with Aggravated Domestic Assault and Theft of a Firearm. He is currently being held in the Sevier County Jail.
