Michella Day’s Death Ruled An Overdose

The Cocke County Sheriff’s office has released the cause of death for a Hamblen County woman whose body was found off a road in Del Rio in February. Michella Day’s body was found down an embankment off of Punkton Road in Del Rio on February 23 of this year. At the time, the sheriff’s office said that foul play could not be ruled out. However, Sheriff CJ Ball released a statement today saying that autopsy results have come back and revealed that Day died from an overdose of methamphetamine. There are no signs of foul play in the cause of her death. The sheriff though went on to note that how Day’s body got to the location where she was found on February 23 is still a mystery that detectives are still trying to figure out. So, even though the cause of death is an overdose, the case remains under investigation.
