Police Rescue Child From Locked Car
A Newport officer rescued a child from a locked car Tuesday. Patrolman Eli Suggs was called to the scene after the child’s mother called for police. She stated that she had put her small child in her car, then went back inside to get a few things. While she was inside, the child accidently locked the doors and windows. Patrolman Suggs was given the okay to break out the back passenger door window, where he then crawled in and was able to unlock the vehicle from the back seat. The child was not hurt and was returned to his mother.
